East Africa is the easterly region of the African continent, formed by the countries TanzaniaKenyaUganda, Rwanda, and  Burundi.

Wildlife & Birds of East Africa
East Africa is very well known for its concentrations of wild animals, such as the "big five" of elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino. Other animals include cheetah, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, hippo and crocodile. And in the jungles mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, and 15 other monkey species. East Africa has over 1500 recorded bird species!!!

The worlds most well known national parks are in East Africa, national parks such as Serengeti, Masai Mara, the Ngorongoro Crater, Selous, Samburu, Bwindi and the Volcanoes National Park. Famous for safaris (game drives).

Landscape
The geography and landscape of East Africa is often stunning and scenic. Shaped by global plate tectonic forces that have created the Great Rift Valley, East Africa is the site of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya, the two tallest peaks in Africa. It also includes the world's second largest freshwater lake, Lake Victoria, and the world's second deepest lake, Lake Tanganyika.
